Chair's Message

Chair's Message (Molecular Science Program)

"Molecular science" was born as an interdisciplinary field linking "chemistry" and "physics." In recent years, the research field has expanded greatly to include not only chemistry and physics but also biology.

Since Molecule is the minimal functional unit of all matters, including living organisms, it is clear that molecular science is an essential foundation for natural science.
In this course, students will learn the cutting edge of molecular science through lectures and experiments by faculty members who are conducting research from the perspectives of "observation of unique structures and functions of molecules and molecular assemblies and development of new observation methods," "elucidation of the origins of unique structures and functions of molecules and molecular assemblies through experimental and theoretical researches," and "design and synthesis of molecules and molecular assemblies having new structures and functions."
We hope that through the experience of being at the cutting edge of academia, you will acquire scientific basis for a great future.
